We have just marked the one year anniversary of the Cronin Photography blog and we thought that we would celebrate by giving it a huge face lift! The blog has been such a fantastic way of keeping our friends/clients in touch with all of the new happenings here at Cronin Photography. However, it is now time to put this good old blog to bed and introduce you to our new and completely improved blog - please visit us now at:

Ok, so I know it's been a week since my last post but there is a really good reason for my slacking off. Changes are in the works for Cronin Photography once again. This time it will be a brand spankin' new BLOG!!! I can't tell you how incredibly excited I am for this. We are right on the verge of launching it so I have been holding off on posting the latest sessions so I can add them to the new blog. There are so many adorable faces waiting in the wings of blogdom so stay tuned....

I still can't believe that this is my job! The smile on Emma's face just melted my heart, completely and utterly melted it! Meet the ladies of Myers Flowers - Elsie, Lee-Ellen, and Lisa. Together these three make up the force behind the successful business of Myers Flowers here in Branford, CT. I had the privilege of spending an afternoon with these three and their fabulous personalities. They had told me that they wanted to update the wedding section on their website so...they created some of the most amazing bouquets and I photographed, laughed, photographed, laughed, laughed, and laughed. Needless to say, I had so much fun with them. If you're ever looking for, not only gorgeous flowers for your wedding, but also fun people to hang out with, definitely check them out!

Wow! Wow! Wow! How cute is this face!?! Nicholas you are sooooo adorable and sooooo sweet! Even feeling as lousy as he did, Nicholas was such a trooper. He flashed those dimples at me, played just enough, and sat quietly so his Mom, Heather, could read to him. All this in a matter of minutes and we were done. Great job Nicholas - way to work it out!

There is something so special about photographing a wedding at St. Clements Castle in the snow. When you pair that with a fun and gorgeous couple like Liz and Pete - Bonus!! These two are a perfect fit, they complement each other in so many wonderful ways. Anthony and I had such a blast with the entire group - the bridal party, the families, the guests, and the band as well. Ok - the word on the street is that I have a baby crush on lil Ant and, yes, I'm here to confirm that that is correct! I think I have some serious competition with his Aunt Liz though. There is absolutely nothing better than a brand new, like twelve day brand new, baby! Those little fingers, little feet, little ears ... everything!!!! It seems like just yesterday that I was photographing Kevin and Abigail for their engagement session. It's amazing how quickly the years pass and here I am now photographing their incredibly beautiful daughter Julia! She is just the cutest!! She had a few wardrobe changes throughout the session, at times donning different hats that her Grandmother had knitted for her. I'll tell you, if anyone is looking for gorgeous baby clothes, you need to get in touch with Julia's Mother - she has such creative talent! Each hat was cuter than the next.

Julia, you are going to have such a great life - you have two of the kindest and most laid back parents around :)

As the story goes, Renee and Joe met when they were sixteen at the local ice rink. She worked in the snack bar and he worked in the Pro Shop. One day after telling her brother about the cute new guy who worked in the Pro Shop, Renee's brother decided to yell out at one of the games "Hey Renee, Joey is #19!" Sometime after, Joe decided to ask Renee out to a football game at her high school. Eleven years later they are still going strong and planning on making it "official" with their wedding on June 27, 2009. It was only fitting that we do their engagement session in the snow and especially - on the ice! Such a blast! Renee and Joe I can not wait for your wedding day. I love to photograph people for no other reason than "just because". There are many times that call for photography to step in. A wedding. A birth. An engagement. You get the picture. There are other instances when there is no reason other than taking time out of your very busy life to capture what is precious "just because". This was the case with Alicia and Collin. This was their moment. They have such an incredible connection that it was a pleasure to spend some quality time with just the two of them. The way they laugh together warmed up even the 10 degree temperature that it was when we did their session. Thank you thank you thank Collin and Alicia for letting me hang out with you. You are truly the best!

OUR NEW LOGO

To begin the New Year, I introduce you to our first change - our new logo. We had a company design this icon based on putting the two C's of my name around a shutter to make for a compact icon that we could put on all sorts of producty things. This one is fun because I can also change the colors around depending on what it's going on. Of course, now my family has to don their new baseball hats and test it all out for me. Enjoy, and again I say - stay tuned...

Oh yeah! 2009 - incredible! Although I'm sorry to see 2008 close out, I am completely looking forward to what this new year has in store for me. Huge reflection time on my end .... I'm not sure you want to go there with me so let me just sum it up in a few words ... LIFE IS GOOD! I can't believe how many incredible people I got to meet this past year. There are so many kind, generous, thoughtful, and sometimes bratty (you know who you are) people who have come into my life that I feel so energized to begin this new year on such a high note.

I'm thinking up all sorts of big plans for the business for '09 so stay tuned...I think you're going to love them.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!! My all time favorite holiday, the best season ever hands down. There's quality family and friend time, R&R time, well you get the idea - it's Christmas vacation!!!! At last. I'm heading off to spend some time with the family today and tomorrow and then on to some serious rest time. I don't know where to begin. Do I read a book first, watch a movie, go for a hike? so many awesome things to do.

I want to thank everyone for such a great year here at Cronin Photography. I met so many incredible new people this year that I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I feel right now. Thank you thank you thank you. Have a great holiday!!!

Ava, along with Kay, her Mom, and I ventured down to the beach but couldn't stay there all that long due to some cold temperatures. So back to the studio we went to warm up a bit and play with the penguins and snowmen. Ava will be turning one in a few days and I want to wish her a very happy birthday! What a great Christmas present you are for your Mom and Dad.

I have been photographing Darrell for a few years now and each time we get together it's even more comical than the last. Darrell is a mix of good looks, charm, enthusiasm, and incredible sweetness. For some reason he has changed my name to Judy - not sure why - but it's really grown on me over the years and now I'm Judy (to Darrell). It's funny because I'm usually telling people to where solids and earth tone colors for their sessions but this time...all bets were off. For Megan and Gianna's session there were polka dots, stripes, bright bold colors, and crazy combinations and I LOVED IT!!! Now I'm in a big color phase - loving the patterns mixed up together with the brightest of colors and who better to pull it off but Megan and Gianna! These two totally fit the energy of the scene. Yes, I still love the earth tones and solids for certain scenes but bring a second outfit of craziness and give me laughs lots of laughs and sprinkle in some silliness while you're at it. Thank you Megan and Gianna for letting me inside your silly circle!

A boy and his dog...Ten Eyck Tuesday

So I took a trip yesterday up to Hartford to join in an awesome workshop given by none other than Ms. Carla Ten Eyck. When I first met Carla I thought she was some stuffy Hartford county photographer but...it turns out she's actually quite hilarious! Carla is one of the most big hearted, genuine, and kind people I've ever met. I was honored to be a part of Ten Eyck Tuesday. This was an incredible day of learning, shooting, laughing, eating (she's quite a cook too) and networking. Carla kicked me right out of my comfort zone and had me photographing REALLLY close to one of the largest dogs (and men) I've ever seen. Mike and Max were incredible subjects, it's always a pleasure to photograph a couple in love but this was extra special somehow. When Mike slipped that wedding ring on Max's paw, well...

I love photographing high school seniors! This is such a great age group and when you have someone as beautiful and kind as Stephanie - well - bonus! I have admired my friend Deb since way back in our college days at Fairfield. She is beautiful, funny, and so big-hearted. It was no wonder she would come across Eric on the same campus. Since this was my last wedding of the year I told Sarah that there would be no "bridezillaing" to end my season. I was not disappointed. Sarah and Bill were FANTASTIC to work with!!! Anthony and I had such a great time zipping around New Haven finding fun places to shoot. I posted a lot of the orange wall we found because it was clearly our favorite spot. Such a perfect couple for that location with their vintage good looks. As the sun went down we headed back to the Union League Cafe for an elegant reception. Beautiful, handsome, fun, tons of love, and great friends and family - Sarah and Bill you two are such a blessed and wonderful couple. Thank you for ending my wedding season on such a high note. I had the great fortune to photograph Michele and Steve once again. This time it wasn't their wedding, it was a session with their newest family member - Mackenzie. How could she be anything but beautiful with those parents. It was a bit of a dreary day but Mackenzie, Michele, and Steve were real troopers as we headed to one of the most sentimental places for them - the Point. This is where Steve proposed to Michele and where we did their engagement session as well so it was only fitting that we returned there with their daughter. It was a dark and stormy day. The winds were whipping and the waves were crashing. Then came Jianine and Steve.
